The Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan of Altea has launched its first actions after the award of management a few months ago. This is the tender for the actions of the first part of this project that begins after achieving to be the first city of less than 50,000 inhabitants with the DTI badge, certified by UNE 178501.

This first phase of the project, which will have a budget of more than 500,000 euros, focuses on technological actions that have been divided into three lots. The tendering period for this part will end on December 21.

The first batch consists of the Data Intelligence Panel, reports on the mobility and overnight stays of tourists, as well as the monitoring of accommodation capacity. With these actions, the foundations of the destination control system are established, as well as the influx of tourists and our accommodation capabilities.

With the second batch, Altea will be provided with an App, Altea Ciutat Turística, with a double objective: that of usability by tourists and residents, which provides up-to-date information on municipal resources, and which, on the other hand, transfers data to the control panel, thus increasing decision-making ability. Within the initial modules of the service we will find the recreations of cultural events with augmented reality and the necessary environment for future integration with the parking management system.

The last batch is made up of the noise, air quality and CO₂ emissions sensing system, in which the bases of the sensor reception system are established and these sensors will be installed in different parts of the municipality .

The councilor for tourism, Xelo González, encouraged companies in the sector: "to participate in this tender. It is an investment that exceeds five hundred thousand euros. It should be borne in mind that it has been divided into three different lots to give smaller companies the possibility to opt for this kind of action, so we encourage all technological companies with Km0 character to participate in them ".
