The Musical Union of Benidorm celebrates Santa Cecilia with a tribute concert to Ennio Morricone

The Musical Union of Benidorm has celebrated its traditional concert of Santa Cecilia, patron saint of music, with a film recital in tribute to the famous composer Ennio Morricone, who died last July. A concert that took place in the Julio Iglesias auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera and was attended by, among others, the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez; and members of the Municipal Corporation.

Among the compositions performed by the UM Symphonic Band, directed by Oswaldo Olmos, some as well known as the original soundtracks of films such as' The mission ',' The good, the ugly and the bad ',' Independence Day 'or' Return to the future'.

As usual, before the concert, the four new members of the Symphonic Band were introduced, who have joined it coinciding with the Santa Cecilia commemorative concert.

Next Sunday, 22nd November, the commemoration of the acts in honor of the patron saint of music will continue, with the concert of Santa Cecilia of the Societat Musical La Nova, which will also be held in the Julio Iglesias auditorium, a venue adapted to the hygienic-sanitary safety regulations.
