Demi and Jacob, owners of The Dog House pub, have organised a charity party in aid of the Asociación Voluntariado Social de l'Alfàs del Pi, which has managed to raise more than 3,000 euros. For the second year running, this establishment in l'Albir has wanted to collaborate with the Asociación Voluntariado Social by organising a charity event. All the money raised will go to the Banco de Alimentos de l'Alfàs.
Antonio Viso, president of the Social Volunteering Department, wanted to thank Demi, Jacob and all their team for this important donation. He also had words of thanks for the volunteer Donna Adams for the excellent work carried out in this charity event, which was attended by the Councillors for Cooperation and Volunteering, Isabel Muñoz, and for International Residents, Martine Mertens.
The Voluntariado Social de l'Alfàs is a non-profit association that has been dedicated since 2013 to caring for residents of the municipality at risk of social exclusion. It currently has around thirty volunteers who dedicate much of their free time to collecting, sorting and distributing clothing and food, as well as caring for the elderly and sick. In addition, they develop awareness campaigns among the population aimed at promoting a culture of solidarity in the municipality.
The association is grateful for the constant support they receive, both from private citizens and from public and private institutions and entities. The list of collaborators is long, from the town hall itself to groups of retirees, clubs of residents of other nationalities, sports and festive groups, schools, banks, business associations, NGOs, companies and businesses. In short, a large group of people of various nationalities and ages, whom the Asociación Voluntariado Social would like to thank and encourage to continue lending their collaboration.
