l’Alfàs del Pi / 27 February 2026
The International Residents Department of l’Alfàs del Pi Town Hall has held an information meeting with residents at The Comm senior living community to outline the range of municipal services available to them, with a particular focus on safety and emergency procedures.
The session was attended by Councillor for International Residents Martine Mertens, Councillor for Relations with Residents’ Groups and Clubs Patrick de Meirsman, and Camila Mora Trueba, the new director of The Comm.
Two members of Civil Protection, Jochen Ditsch and María Pérez González, also took part, providing practical advice on how to respond in the event of a fire or emergency. Residents were reminded of the importance of remaining calm and calling 112 — a multilingual emergency service — to report incidents.
The meeting was organised at the request of ‘The Ladies of The Comm’, a residents’ group that meets weekly and wanted to learn more about the work of the Town Hall and the International Residents Department. Nearly 50 residents of various nationalities attended the session.
Following the strong interest shown, a further practical workshop has been agreed, focusing on the use of fire extinguishers and semi-automatic defibrillators (AEDs).
The meeting highlighted the strong collaboration between The Comm and l’Alfàs del Pi Town Hall, and both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation for the benefit of the international community.
