Alfàs del Pi Council has approved the expansion of the surveillance network.

Three new cameras will be installed on Norway's Olaf V Avenue, Sierra Helada Street and Vell d'Altea Camí and two license plate readers will be installed on the roundabouts that connect the Camí Vell d'Altea with Juan Sebastian Bach street and Sant Pere avenue.

The town will then have twenty-three cameras and seven license plate readers that are mainly used for traffic management and assistance with traffic accidents, but they have also been used by the Civil Guard to assist with their criminal investigations.
