Coinciding with the central days of Holy Week, the Benidorm City Council is going to reinforce the device available for the beaches by incorporating the ECOVID program staff, who "will mainly be in charge of information tasks for users", as indicated today by the mayor, Toni Pérez. In this way, "from today, 1st April, until the 5th, around 40 people, clearly identified, will serve users on the beaches of Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas"; some sandy areas "that since the beginning of the month have been parceled out following the 'safe beaches' model that has already worked with very good results in the past".

Toni Pérez has stressed that this staff "will be in charge of informing users about the operation of the beaches and the sanitary regulations in force", and "joins the human resources provided by the concession company for the integral management of the beaches , and to the members of the Local Police, which during these days have a special device throughout the city ”.

The mayor recalled that the beach plots have 16 square meters (4x4 meters) to ensure physical distance and personal observance of sanitary measures; and has detailed that, during the central days of Easter, the surveillance and rescue service is made up of 19 troops and includes a boat and ambulance. In addition, there is a reinforcement of cleaning at the foot of beaches and coves in morning and afternoon shifts, complementing the usual night service.

Toni Pérez stressed that "since 1st March, our beaches are prepared for the reactivation of mobility and tourist activity, which this Easter is limited to residents of the Valencian Community." However, “when we modulate the operation of the beaches for the months of March and April, we prepared a maximum device, with the anticipation that the influx of people from other Autonomous Communities would be possible; a device that we are going to maintain in the same terms despite knowing that the arrival of tourists is not going to be that of other years at this time ".

Regulations for the use of the Benidorm beach

In addition to complying with the regulations issued by the Government of Spain on the use of the mask, like last year, the City Council has established rules for the use of the beach. Each 4x4 meter plot can be occupied by a maximum of 4 people, 5 if one of them is under 6 years old. The adjoining plots cannot be invaded and access to the bathing area is through defined corridors. At all times, you must keep a safety distance of 1.5 meters with the rest of the users in the passage and bathroom areas, as well as in the footbaths. Children's play areas and sports areas for beach volleyball and beach soccer are enabled.
