According to the data provided by À Punt TV Channel our area of Marina Baixa has experienced the greatest spike in infections in the Valencian Community since it passed to Phase 1 on 11th May.

The region went from 14 people being diagnosed in the week between the 3rd - 10th May to 47 in the week between 11th - 18th of May the first week of the area moving to Phase 1 of the de-escaltion plan.

A negative trend that contrasts with the rest of the region's health areas that also moved two weeks ago to Phase 1, where cases continued to drop, such as Vinaròs, Xàtiva-Ontinyent, Elda, Orihuela, Torrevieja, Alcoi and Dénia.

But the negative data also occurs in two other health areas, Requena, which went from 11 to 18 cases and Gandía, from 2 to 16.

The  Marina Baixa Health Department has said that the situation in the region remains "controlled and calm". At the same time, they pointed out that this data could be mixed with antibody tests, which have detected past infections, which would have added to the new infections.
