The Diputación de Alicante has hosted this morning a meeting with the Alicante Red Cross to deliver the proceeds obtained from the solidarity concert in favor of the victims of the war in Ukraine held a few months ago at the ADDA. The president of the provincial institution and of the ADDA Foundation, Carlos Mazón , and the vice president and deputy for Culture, Julia Parra , have formalised the donation by signing an agreement in favor of the charity, which has also been initialed by their President, Francisco Galvañ .

Mazón highlighted “ the work that the ADDA Foundation carries out beyond culture, as evidenced by its involvement in such important causes as raising awareness in society with the victims of a conflict that has been destroying Ukraine for months, with thousands of displaced people who they need the support and recognition of the entire international community .”

For her part, Julia Parra expressed her gratitude “ to all the people of Alicante for their numerous shows of solidarity with the displaced, many of whom have been welcomed in the province, where the Red Cross is doing a great job of caring for and helping the thousands of Ukrainian families who are going through a difficult situation of particular vulnerability and uncertainty ”.

In this sense, Francisco Galvañ explained that the Red Cross has been attending to the needs of the Ukrainians displaced to the province for more than six months, " a much-needed humanitarian work that we are still carrying out and that we can continue to provide thanks to collaborations such as the one we receive from the Diputación de Alicante ”.

The deputy for Culture has confirmed that more than 700 people have joined the charity initiative promoted by the Provincial Council and the ADDA Foundation with a concert in tribute to the Ukrainian people and the collection of donations through row 0. All contributions have allowed to collect 15,500 euros that have been delivered to the Red Cross.

The solidarity act held in April under the title “ Concert for Peace ” included a performance by the Adda·Simfònica orchestra , under the direction of its owner, Josep Vicent . The program included pieces by composers such as Prokofiev, Copland and Silvestrov.
