#BenidormTeEspera #BenidormAwaitsYou

Benidorm City Council has decided to extend the deadline for registering for the #LuceBenidorm contest for one more week, a contest focused on boosting activity after the summer and with which it seeks to compensate establishments for the increase in operating costs and supplies , especially given the historical rise in the price of electricity.

The Local Government Board (JGL) approved extending the registration period until 17th September to facilitate participation. "Although at this time the participation already meets expectations because there are more than 2,000 registered establishments, we do not want to leave anyone behind", and "that is why we extend the deadline to encourage participation in this decoration contest with which the City Council it is going to inject €1.1 million euros into the productive fabric of Benidorm ”, as explained by the mayor, Toni Pérez.

The mayor has stated that “#LuceBenidorm is a new municipal initiative to support the productive fabric, which continues to suffer the effects of the economic crisis caused by the pandemic and which now also has to face the increase in the price of electricity, a circumstance that weighs on the long-awaited recovery ”.

Toni Pérez recalled that #LuceBenidorm is aimed exclusively at commercial, restaurant, hotel, leisure and service establishments in the town. The City Council has set a general access for participants of €400 euros and three prizes of €3,000, €2,000 and €1,000 euros in each of the two types of competition: commercial and service establishments, and hotel, restaurant and leisure establishments.

The mayor has stated that “the #LuceBenidorm contest, as before #BenidormTeEspera, is revealed as a very satisfactory formula to reach the economy of companies, SMEs, micro-SMEs and the self-employed, but also to animate the city until 17th November , date on which, at least on the calendar, our Major Patron Festivities end ”.

The dynamics of the contest indicate that participants must decorate their establishments with a free theme but prominently and visibly incorporating the hashtag #LuceBenidorm; an ornamentation that must be maintained until 17th November. In addition, they must publish at least one image of the decorated establishment on one or more social networks including the hashtag of the contest and #Benidorm, and tagging the City Council.

Registration must be done through the municipal Electronic Headquarters ( https://sede.benidorm.org ), where the contest rules are also available. For any question or clarification, the email lucebenidorm@benidorm.org is available and, in the morning from Monday to Friday, the telephone number of the Department of Commerce: 966 815 443.

Payment of extraordinary aid to families
Likewise, the mayor has reported that "today the beneficiaries of the 2021 Family Aid have begun to enter the extraordinary benefit of €150 euros arranged for the City Council to compensate for the rise in electricity in these months". Through this benefit, to which €279,900 euros have been allocated, "the 1,866 households that have received family aid to cover basic needs will be able to defray, among others, the expenses derived from the increase in the electricity bill."

Toni Pérez has stressed that “with this extraordinary municipal benefit - which is added to the more than €1.5 million granted with the aid to families in 2021 - we want to contribute so that the increase in the electricity bill does not become an added problem for these households, whose economies are especially damaged by the Covid-19 pandemic ”.
