Community Comes Together for Charity Golf Event
Altea Golf Club, the Red Cross and Altea Town Hall have joined forces to launch a charity golf tournament that will raise funds for local social support programmes across the municipality.
The event will take place on 14 June at Altea Golf Club, with all proceeds going directly to the work carried out by the Altea branch of the Red Cross, which supports vulnerable families, older residents, people with disabilities and those facing social exclusion.
Local Businesses Back the Initiative
The tournament has attracted strong support from the local business community, with numerous companies donating prizes for a charity raffle that will follow the competition. Participating businesses include hotels, restaurants, retailers and local producers from across the Marina Baixa region.
Organisers say the response highlights the growing commitment of local businesses to corporate social responsibility and community welfare initiatives.
Celebrating 50 Years of Altea Golf Club
The event also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Altea Golf Club, one of the Costa Blanca's longest-established golf clubs. Club officials said they hope the charity tournament will become a regular fixture on the local sporting calendar.
The competition will feature an 18-hole tournament beginning at 9am, followed by a prize-giving ceremony and charity raffle.
Supporting Vital Red Cross Services
Altea Town Hall praised the work of the Red Cross, noting that the organisation plays a vital role in complementing public services and reaching people most in need throughout the community.
Officials described the event as an excellent example of collaboration between public institutions, local businesses and charitable organisations working together to improve the lives of residents across Altea.
With golf tourism continuing to grow across the Costa Blanca, organisers hope the tournament will not only raise valuable funds but also strengthen community engagement and awareness of the Red Cross's ongoing humanitarian work.
