The Festes council informs about the different activities that will take place in Altea for New Year's and Kings.
The Festivals Council announces that the traditional New Year's program will be joined this year by the celebration of fun activities organized by the City Council in collaboration with the festival commissions of the Stm. Christ of the Tabernacle in Altea and Stm. Christ of Health in Altea la Vella
Likewise, the area councilor, Joaquim Devesa, has recalled that the last day of the year will begin with the Children's New Year's Party, organized by the Education Council and which will take place in Plaça de l' Church in hours from 10.30 to 13:00 h
In the evening, in Altea la Vella, in Plaça de l'Església, the Crist de la Salut commission has prepared an evening for the benefit of the festivities, from 4:00 p.m. With a break for dinner, the residents of Altea la Vella and residents of the area will be able to celebrate the arrival of the new year with grapes, cava and cotillon in this same square.
As the councilor explains, the big New Year's Eve party will take place in the church square of Altea with grapes, cava, cotillion, fireworks, music and the corresponding "resopó". In addition, the Crist del Sagrari festival committee will offer bar service at popular prices, for the benefit of patronal festivals.
And another of the central days of Christmas is Kings Day, when the arrival of Their Majesties the Magi of the East arouses the excitement of young and old who are already waiting for the royal pages to deposit their letters of wishes. In Altea it will be on the 3rd, in the Plaça del Convent, in the evening. In addition, the Christ Commission of the Tabernacle will offer a chocolate bar for attendees. In Altea la vella the royal page will go to the Plaça de l'Església on the 4th to announce the arrival of the Kings and receive the letters.
From the council it is reported that, given the amount of work that the Magi have, the commissions for the festivals of Crist del Sagrari and Santa Anna will be the ones that prepare the lists of children who will receive the gifts once the cavalcades are over. Cavalcades that will be on the 5th from 18:00h in Altea ending at Plaça dels Esports and on the 6th in Altea la Vella from 11:00h ending at the Cultural Centre.
Interested families can come and talk to the Commission of Christ on January 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Carrer 9 d'Octubre no. 10 and with the Santa Anna festivities committee on the 5th from 6:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at the Cultural Centre of Altea la Vella.
From the Festes council, its manager expects their Majesties to arrive laden with gifts.
