An off-duty Benidorm Local Police officer yesterday saved a minor who was choking during the celebration of the Three Kings Parade. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Ruzafa Street, near Rioja Passage, when apparently the minor, about 2 years old, choked on a sweet.
As explained by the Local Police, after detecting a crowd of people, the officer approached the area and noticed the presence of a minor "in a cyanotic state" from whom one of his parents was unsuccessfully trying to extract an object from throat.
Given the situation, the agent took the minor and applied the corresponding maneuver, allowing the child to expel the object, a sweet.
After the action of the Local Police officer, and with the minor now out of danger, the parents took the child to a health centre. Police sources have indicated that it is a family that was spending a few days on vacation in the city.
