La Cala de Finestrat is gearing up for one of the most anticipated festive events of the year: the April Fair. It will take place the weekend of April 4th-6th, with a Tapas Competition and the best flamenco atmosphere . Live music, a horse parade, a sevillana workshop, and a tapas competition, which more than 15 establishments throughout La Cala have joined.
The Councilor for Festivals, Sara Llorca, along with the Councilor for Tourism and Business, Donna R. Plummer, and the Councilor for Beaches, Estela Álvarez, presented this recreational event on the beachfront, from the promenade. Residents and visitors can experience the essence of this Andalusian festival from the town's coastal area.
"We want a festive weekend, on our beach, with the special tapas that the bars and restaurants of La Cala will prepare for us. Food, music, color, dancing, guitars, clapping... So if you have flamenco dresses, don't hesitate to bring them because, especially on Saturday the 5th, we'll experience an authentic April Fair in La Cala de Finestrat," explained the councilor for the area, Sara Llorca.
For her part, the Councilor for Business and Tourism, Donna R. Plummer, focused on the business revitalization component. “The Feria de Abril de la Cala has established itself as a fixture in the Finestrat festival calendar. Every year, residents and tourists ask us when we're going to hold it. Businesses ask too, because it's an added motivation to visit La Cala and enjoy this spectacular atmosphere. For our part, we're very excited. And grateful to the businesses that have supported this initiative, yet another year.”
The April Fair is an explosion of Andalusian culture and a perfect time to experience flamenco at its finest. “We are aware that we have many residents from Andalusia, as well as many lovers of flamenco and traditional cuisine. So, we look forward to seeing you all this weekend, April 4-6, at our beach, La Cala de Finestrat,” concluded Beach Councilor Estela Álvarez.
There will be an opportunity to vote for the Best Tapas over the weekend. The ballot box will be located at the Tourist Information Center on the beach and also in Plaça de l'Àmfora. The winner will be announced on Monday, April 7.
