Benidorm Gears Up for World Cup Final Fan Zone as Spain Takes on Argentina

Football fever is set to grip Benidorm this weekend as thousands of residents and holidaymakers prepare to watch Spain take on Argentina in the FIFA World Cup Final at a major public screening in the heart of the city.

The Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge, supported by Benidorm City Council, has organised a free fan event at the Julio Iglesias Auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera, transforming the popular venue into one of the Costa Blanca's biggest World Cup watch parties.

Festivities begin at 6pm on Sunday, 19 July, with live music, DJs, entertainment and family-friendly activities building up to the 9pm kick-off, when the final will be shown live on a giant screen.

The event is expected to attract football fans from across the Marina Baixa, alongside hundreds of British visitors currently enjoying their summer holidays in the resort.

A City Ready for the Big Match

Benidorm has embraced Spain's remarkable World Cup journey, with bars, restaurants and hotels reporting increased bookings whenever La Roja have played during the tournament. The city has become a sea of red and yellow flags, with many businesses decorating terraces and shopfronts in support of the national team.

The giant-screen event follows successful public screenings of Spain's knockout matches, which drew large crowds and created a carnival atmosphere in the city. Organisers expect Sunday's final to attract one of the largest public gatherings of the summer.

The fan zone will feature music provided by local DJs before supporters gather to cheer on Spain in what could become another historic night for Spanish football. Food and drink will be available throughout the evening at affordable prices, while admission remains free, subject to capacity.

Benidorm Buzzing With Visitors

The final comes during one of the busiest weekends of the summer season on the Costa Blanca. Hotels across Benidorm continue to welcome thousands of international visitors, with British tourists once again making up one of the resort's largest overseas markets.

Many visitors are expected to join local supporters, creating a unique international atmosphere as Spain bids to lift football's biggest prize.

Across Spain, cities including Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Málaga, Alicante and Benidorm are staging giant-screen events as excitement reaches fever pitch ahead of the final.

Organisers say the event has been designed to create a safe, welcoming and family-friendly environment where residents and visitors can enjoy the occasion together.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early as large crowds are expected and entry will be restricted once the venue reaches capacity.
