Benidorm / 30 April 2026
The city of Benidorm is set to enhance its tourism infrastructure with a new digital transformation project aimed at improving the visitor experience at its main tourist information hub.
The City Council has approved an investment of just over €59,000 to create an immersive, technology-driven experience room inside the El Torrejó Tourist Office, combining cultural promotion with advanced digital tools.
The project is funded through the European Union’s Next Generation EU programme as part of the wider “Green Benidorm” Tourism Sustainability Plan.
Immersive room to transform visitor experience
The upgrade will introduce a fully equipped immersive space featuring:
Officials say the space is designed to offer a multisensory introduction to Benidorm, helping visitors explore the city’s culture, heritage and tourism offerings in a more engaging way.
The contract has been awarded to Amazing Up – Ingeniería Activa del Ocio SL, with an execution period of around two months once formalised.
Part of wider €100k+ tourist office modernisation
This digital project complements a separate renovation investment of over €103,000 aimed at physically upgrading the El Torrejó building.
Together, the two initiatives form a broader strategy to position the site as a modern tourism intelligence centre, rather than a traditional information office.
A hub for tourism innovation
According to the City Council, the El Torrejó facility is already evolving into a central hub for tourism management and innovation, housing:
Officials say the latest upgrade will reinforce its role as a “smart tourism” centre, aligned with European digital transition goals.
Boost for sustainable tourism strategy
City leaders, including mayor Toni Pérez, say the investment reflects Benidorm’s long-term commitment to combining tourism growth with sustainability and technological innovation.
They argue the immersive experience will not only improve visitor engagement but also help communicate the city’s identity in a more modern and accessible way.
The initiative forms part of a wider push to ensure Benidorm remains competitive as one of Europe’s leading urban coastal destinations, while adapting to changing visitor expectations.
