Benidorm / 8 April 2026
Benidorm has once again proven its popularity with British and international tourists, recording near-capacity hotel bookings during the Easter holiday period.
New data from Hosbec shows the resort reached 89.8% occupancy during Holy Week, significantly exceeding expectations and confirming a strong start to the 2026 tourist season.
Costa Blanca boom driven by Benidorm
The wider Costa Blanca also performed strongly, with occupancy levels averaging over 82%, but Benidorm remained the standout destination thanks to its mix of beaches, nightlife and year-round appeal.
Across the Valencian Community, average occupancy hit 88.2%, with strong demand fuelled by warm weather and a surge in last-minute bookings.
Easter demand from UK visitors
Industry insiders say Benidorm continues to be a favourite for UK holidaymakers during Semana Santa, offering affordable breaks, reliable sunshine and a lively entertainment scene.
While Valencia recorded the highest occupancy at 97%, tourism leaders say Benidorm remains the key driver of coastal tourism in the region.
Strong outlook for summer
Tourism officials believe the Easter figures point to a busy summer ahead, with forward bookings already strong and continued demand expected from both domestic and international markets.
Benidorm’s performance reinforces its position as one of Europe’s leading holiday hotspots.
Easter Events & Local Atmosphere (Just finished but still ongoing vibe)
Benidorm
The tail end of Semana Santa has wrapped, but the holiday atmosphere continues this week. Expect busy beaches and a bustling Old Town, with hotels around 90% full. Daily live music, tribute acts, UK-style cabaret shows, DJs, and themed party nights are keeping the nightlife lively. The Benidorm Punk Weekender is also taking place, offering multi-day alternative music performances. This week is more about the post-Easter buzz, nightlife, and events in venues rather than big parades.
