Benidorm / 23 December 2025
Benidorm will bid farewell to 2025 and welcome 2026 with a large-scale New Year’s Eve celebration on Levante Beach on Wednesday, 31 December, an event that has become a firm fixture in the city’s festive calendar.
Now in its ninth year, the celebration is promoted by the Association of Bars, Restaurants, Cafeterias and Nightlife (Abreca), with the support of the Department of Festivals, Events and Commerce, and has attracted several thousand people in previous editions.
The festivities will begin at 6:00pm at the junction of Paseo de Levante and Avenida de Bilbao, featuring background music, DJ sets and giant screens showing the New Year’s Eve countdown. As in previous years, grapes and party favours will be distributed free of charge to attendees, courtesy of participating hospitality venues.
Shortly before midnight, a live broadcast from Madrid’s Puerta del Sol will be shown on the screens to follow the traditional twelve chimes. This will be followed at approximately 12:15am by a synchronised fireworks display, visible from Levante Beach.
In a special nod to Benidorm’s large British community and visitors, at 1:00am Spanish time the giant screens will connect with BBC television to broadcast the New Year’s Eve chimes from London’s Big Ben.
In addition to the Levante Beach celebration, restaurateurs on Santo Domingo Street will also host a “Christmas Afternoon” on 24 December and a “New Year’s Afternoon” on 31 December. Both events will begin at 12:30pm and will feature two stages with DJ performances by Miguel Torres and Juampi.
The initiative forms part of Benidorm’s wider festive programme, offering residents and visitors multiple ways to enjoy the Christmas and New Year period in the city.
