The Benidorm City Council will present the 2025 City of Benidorm Tourism Awards to Jet2Holidays, the ONCE Social Group, the Valencian Business Association (AVE), and Abreca, recognising their outstanding contributions at the international, national, regional, and local levels, respectively.
A Special Mention will go posthumously to Vicente Climent Llorca, the late owner of the iconic
Benidorm Palace, for his decades of dedication to enhancing the city’s cultural and entertainment appeal.
The awards, proposed by Mayor Toni Pérez and unanimously approved by the Board of Spokespersons, will be ratified at the August 25 plenary session. They will be presented in September as part of Benidorm’s International Tourism Day celebrations, with the exact date and venue to be announced.
Award Highlights
International – Jet2Holidays: The UK’s largest tour operator since 2023, accounting for nearly 40% of the 900,000 British tourists staying in Benidorm hotels in 2024, and handling 660,000 seats at Alicante Airport. Growth of over 11% is forecast for 2025, above the UK market average.
National – ONCE Social Group: Honoured for long-standing collaboration with the City Council to improve accessibility and inclusive tourism, making Benidorm a benchmark in this field.
Regional – Valencian Business Association (AVE): Organiser of the annual Tourism Conference, which in its 12th edition in 2025 brought hundreds of business leaders together to discuss the future of Spain’s tourism sector.
Local – Abreca: Celebrating its 40th anniversary, representing hospitality, restaurants, and leisure in Benidorm, and playing a key role in promoting local gastronomy through events such as Benidorm Gastronomic.
Special Mention – Vicente Climent Llorca: Over three decades, Climent transformed Benidorm Palace into a world-class entertainment venue, attracting international awards and placing the city alongside show capitals such as Las Vegas, Paris, and Berlin.
