He points out that "one out of every five jobs generated by the private sector has been produced in Valencian lands" and points out that our region has created 101,700 jobs, "more than Andalucía, Aragon, Galicia, the Balearic Islands, Murcia, the Basque Country and Navarre combined"
The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has highlighted "the leadership of the Valencian Community in the creation of youth, industrial and tourist jobs", according to the latest data from the Active Population Survey (EPA) and has assured that the policies developed by the Council "are bearing fruit in the labor market".
The president has underlined the commitment of the Valencian Executive to "the creation of quality employment" through the implementation of different measures to attract investment, facilitate economic activity and adapt the training offer to business needs, among which he has highlighted administrative simplification, the reduction of tax pressure, the boost to Professional Training, and the initiatives for the attraction and retention of talent.
The head of the Council has stated that "one out of every three jobs created in Spain in the age group of 16 to 19 years is produced in our territory", comparing data from the fourth quarter of 2024 with the same period of the previous year. Thus, of the 26,200 new jobs created nationally for the youngest, 8,800 have been created in the Valencian Community.
With reference to industrial employment, Mazón has pointed out that from the second quarter of 2023 to the fourth quarter of 2024 "the Valencian Community has created 34,800 jobs, currently surpassing the 382,000 jobs in the different industrial activities".
The president has asserted that our region "is the locomotive of industrial employment in Spain" by generating 19.5% of the 178,500 jobs in this sector produced from the second quarter of 2023 (from the beginning of the legislature) to the fourth quarter of 2024.
In this sense, he highlighted "the strength of the Valencian manufacturing industry" since in the aforementioned period 23,800 new jobs have been created, "a record only surpassed by Andalucía with only 800 more jobs than the Valencian Community", as detailed by Mazón.
In the same way, he recalled that the Valencian Community "grows by 11.7% in 2024 in tourism employment and exceeds for the first time the 300,000 employed", at the same time that he highlighted that the province of Valencia has the largest number of employed people in the tourism sector with 163,400, which is 30.3% more than in 2023.
In this regard, the president has affirmed that the latest report prepared by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana regarding the evolution of the Active Employment Survey (EPA) in the tourism industry in the fourth quarter of the year and the average of 2024 "states the highest number of employees in the historical series with an annual average of 301,800 employed".
In addition, it should be noted that those employed in tourism activities, which include transport, accommodation, restaurants, travel operators and agencies, vehicle hire, culture and leisure, increased in the Valencian Community in absolute terms by 31,550 people during the last year.
Growth and strength of the labour market in the Valencian Community
Also since the beginning of the legislature, Mazón has made it clear that the private sector has created 512,100 jobs in Spain, "of which 1 in every 5 jobs has been generated in Valencian lands".
In this regard, the head of the Council has remarked that the Valencian Community accumulates 101,700 jobs generated by the private sector, "more than Andalucía, Aragon, Galicia, the Balearic Islands, Murcia, the Basque Country and Navarre together" which add up to an aggregate private employment of 98,800 jobs, which in his opinion "proves the strength and strength of the labor market in our region".
Mazón has highlighted the Council's commitment to continue advancing the positioning of the Valencian Community "as a land of opportunities, open to investment and with legal certainty to continue promoting economic and social development, and consolidate its leadership in job creation".
