Benidorm SkyFest to host groundbreaking ‘DJ Symphonic’ show this summer

A major new music experience is set to arrive in Benidorm this August, as SkyFest confirms the addition of DJ Symphonic—a large-scale live show blending electronic dance music with a full symphony orchestra.

 

The performance will take place on 21 August at 9pm at the venue inside the Guillermo Amor Sports City, with tickets already on sale through official festival and promoter channels.

 

A fusion of classical and electronic music

Promoted by the Excelentia Foundation, DJ Symphonic has been gaining attention across Europe for its innovative format.

 

The show combines a live DJ set with the Royal Film Concert Orchestra—a 50-piece ensemble made up of professional musicians from leading orchestras and music schools.

 

Organisers describe the concept as a “masterful fusion” of orchestral sound and electronic energy, transforming well-known tracks into a cinematic, high-impact live experience.

 

A setlist designed for all generations

The concert will feature a wide-ranging repertoire designed to appeal to mixed audiences, combining:

• Modern hits from artists like Avicii and David Guetta
• Alternative and pop anthems from Coldplay
• Classic tracks from Queen and Europe
• Electronic icons including Daft Punk, Darude and Safri Duo

 

The programme also includes themed medleys and crowd favourites, creating what organisers describe as an “intergenerational musical journey.”

 

Part of a broader festival strategy

Benidorm City Council says the show reflects its ambition to diversify the city’s cultural offering, attracting both residents and tourists with varied entertainment.

 

Councillor for Events Jesús Carrobles said the concert highlights the city’s commitment to programming “original and inclusive” events, adding that the fusion of classical and electronic music is something “never before seen in Benidorm.”

 

SkyFest organisers have also emphasised the importance of bringing high-quality, large-scale productions to the resort as it continues to strengthen its reputation as a major events destination on the Costa Blanca.

 

International success and growing demand

DJ Symphonic has toured multiple cities across Spain and internationally over the past three years, including recent performances in London, where it reportedly received strong audience response.

 

Its growing popularity reflects a wider trend in live music, where orchestras are increasingly collaborating with contemporary genres to reach broader audiences.
