La Nucia / 17 April 2026
The town of La Nucía will come together this Sunday for the 15th edition of its annual Solidarity March Against Cancer, a community event aimed at raising funds and awareness in support of cancer research and patient support services.
Organised by the local branch of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in collaboration with La Nucía Town Hall, the event will once again bring together residents, families and local organisations in one of the municipality’s most established charity initiatives.
5km Community Walk for All Ages
The 5-kilometre route will begin at the Muixara Pavilion within the Ciutat Esportiva and conclude at the CEM Captivador sports facility.
The walk is open to participants of all ages and abilities, with organisers encouraging families, children and older residents to take part at their own pace. Refreshments will be provided along the route, and transport arrangements have been made for those attending accompanying activities at the finish point.
Charity Activities and Family Programme
At the finishing venue, a programme of community and family activities will take place, including:
The raffle, with tickets priced at €3, will be drawn on-site, with all proceeds directed towards cancer research and support services.
Funds for Local Cancer Support Groups
All money raised will be donated to the Anémona Marina Baixa and AECC programmes, supporting both research initiatives and patient assistance services across the region.
Organisers say the event continues to play an important role in funding local support networks, particularly for families affected by breast cancer and other forms of the disease.
A Strong Community Tradition
Now in its 15th year, the Solidarity March has become a key date in La Nucía’s community calendar, combining sport, social awareness and fundraising.
Local officials describe the event as a reflection of the town’s strong civic engagement and long-standing commitment to health-related causes.
