Emergency Services Respond To Residential Fire
Emergency services in La Nucía successfully rescued a dog and a cat following a small house fire, with one of the animals requiring oxygen treatment after suffering smoke inhalation.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning and prompted a rapid response from officers of the La Nucía Local Police and firefighters from the Marina Baixa Regional Fire Station.
Fortunately, no residents were injured during the incident, although the property sustained material damage.
Pets Safely Rescued
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters entered the affected property and located two pets trapped inside the home.
Rescuers successfully brought both animals to safety:
• One dog
• One cat
Emergency personnel provided immediate assistance to one of the animals, which had been affected by smoke inhalation. Oxygen therapy was administered at the scene before the pet was assessed by responders.
The swift intervention helped prevent more serious consequences and ensured the welfare of the animals.

Authorities praised the quick coordination between local police officers and firefighters, which enabled the fire to be brought under control before it could spread further.
The incident serves as a reminder of the vital role played by emergency services in protecting both people and animals during residential emergencies.
