This Sunday, June 23, La Cala de Finestrat hosts the Night of San Juan, a Festival declared of Provincial Tourist Interest and which brings together thousands of people in La Cala every year. The Festival Councilor, Sara Llorca, encouraged the population of Finestrat and neighbouring towns to come to La Cala to share the magical tradition of jumping the waves and all the programming they have prepared from this area. “Our beach offers an incomparable setting to share this special date. We will start in the afternoon with a children's mini-disco designed for the little ones. Then we will continue with live remember music of Spanish and international Pop Rock by Mangani Boys who are celebrating their 35th anniversary this year; ambient music with Javi Fénix and, starting at 11:00 p.m., the Alicante DJ Miss Deep'In will arrive, known for bringing electronic music to festivals and venues throughout Spain.” La Nit de Sant Joan will have a bar with popular prices run by the Comissió de Festes El Bak 2024. “We are very excited about this edition. We are sure that our Cala will once again be the epicenter of this special night of San Juan which, as you know, is declared a Festival of Provincial Tourist Interest by the Generalitat Valenciana. We are waiting for you all”, concluded the mayor of Fiestas, Sara Llorca.

To coordinate this device for security, first aid, medical care, emergencies and cleaning, a meeting was held between all the personnel involved with the 1st Deputy Mayor, Nati Algado, and the councilors of Festivals, Sara Llorca, of Citizen Security, Beatriz Quintillán and Playa, Estela Álvarez.
There will be 30 members of the Local Police and Civil Guard, with the presence of the police aerial surveillance unit with drones to control all areas.
There will also be special reinforcement of first aid from six in the afternoon until two in the morning, an ambulance vehicle, a field hospital with a medical service team made up of a doctor, nurse and emergency health technician.
In terms of cleaning, several public toilets and buckets for depositing waste will be enabled. They will distribute bags to facilitate waste collection, in addition to the presence of a special cleaning reinforcement brigade so that the beach is perfectly suitable for bathers from the first hour of Monday the 24th.
The Councilor for Security, Beatriz Quintillán , recalled the preventive measures to celebrate the Night of Sant Joan safely: “You will not be able to make fires, barbecues or use flying lanterns; You cannot access the beach with firewood, wood or glass containers to avoid risks in the sand. On the other hand, it is worth remembering that La Cala de Finestrat is a smoke-free beach,as established by the City Council in the summer of 2020, with the desire to preserve health and also preserve the good condition of the arena. As for traffic, traffic on the beach front is planned to be cut off at 4:00 p.m.
In terms of Equality and as has already been done in previous editions, there will be a Violet Information Point to experience a party with respect and without aggression. As a novelty this year they will deliver backpacks with the motto “Finestrat amb la Igualtat”. This Point will be located on the same promenade, from 10 at night until 02:00 in the morning, next to the Advanced Command Post (PMA) of the Finestrat Local Police.
