Finestrat / 16 December 2025
After his traditional visit to the historic centre of Finestrat during the Christmas Market, Santa Claus is set to arrive in La Cala de Finestrat on Tuesday, 23 December, bringing festive excitement to families and children alike. The event will take place in Plaça de l’Àmfora and is jointly organised by Finestrat Town Council and La Vila Joiosa Town Council, through their respective Festivals Departments.
The festive afternoon will begin at 5:00 pm with a programme of children’s workshops. At around 6:00 pm, prizes will be awarded to local schoolchildren who have taken part in the Christmas card competition. From 6:30 pm onwards, one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the Christmas season will arrive, as Santa Claus makes his appearance in La Cala, travelling all the way from Lapland.
The Councillor for Festivals, Sara Llorca, highlighted the importance of the event for local families:
“Santa Claus will visit our Cala de Finestrat on Christmas Eve after stopping by our Christmas Market. In Plaça de l’Àmfora, children will be able to personally hand Santa and his elf their wish lists, take photos with them, and enjoy a magical and unforgettable afternoon by the sea.”
Plaça de l’Àmfora will also be decorated with a variety of Christmas-themed figures, creating the perfect setting for family photographs and festive memories.
“So we warmly invite everyone — both adults and children — to join us from 5:00 pm onwards and experience the magic of Christmas with Santa Claus and his elf in La Cala de Finestrat,” added Councillor Llorca.
