Valencia / 5 December 2025
The President of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, has outlined the key objectives of the new Council during its official inauguration, emphasising a renewed commitment to strengthening public trust, fostering collaboration with other administrations, and placing citizens at the heart of government action.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Pérez Llorca thanked the newly appointed members of the Council for accepting what he described as “one of the most inspiring responsibilities for anyone with a vocation for public service.” He expressed confidence in their ability to address the priorities of the Valencian people and guide the region through a period of consolidation and transformation.
The President stressed the need not only to manage day-to-day affairs but also to continue advancing the major reforms already underway in healthcare, education, taxation, housing, and social, family and youth policies. He noted that the experience gained in recent years “places us in a privileged position to understand what has worked, what must be improved, and which new proposals are ready to make a qualitative leap forward.”
Pérez Llorca highlighted his government’s determination to improve coordination among institutions in order to accelerate reconstruction efforts in areas affected by recent floods, stating that “those affected are demanding greater urgency and we must respond.”
He also reaffirmed the Generalitat’s commitment to equality, family and childhood policies, and announced a decisive push to address the region’s housing challenges, which he described as “one of the greatest issues currently facing citizens, particularly young people.”
The President pledged constant accountability, stressing that the new government will focus on “measurable results and tangible improvements,” while avoiding “sterile debates and distractions that pull us away from our priority: ensuring real, inclusive prosperity in every city, every neighbourhood, and every home.”
Pérez Llorca concluded by extending “a hand to all institutions,” expressing a willingness to collaborate with all political, economic and social actors, as well as with civil society at large. “Only together can we continue moving forward,” he affirmed.
