The leisure venues in the so-called British area of Benidorm and several hotels located there are going to start a fundraising campaign this weekend to help people affected by the DANA. The collection will start this Saturday, the 9th, and will remain active until the 15th of November.
The result of this collection, in which supplier companies will participate, will be announced on Friday the 15th, the day after the celebration of the Fancy Dress, an event organised by entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector and which brings together thousands of British tourists in the city every year.
Specifically, the following 38 establishments have joined the initiative: Marina Resort, Funky Flamingo, Guinness Bar, Jolly Roger, Daytona Rock, Outback Aussie Bar, CandemTown, Shamrock, Rockstar, Winners Sport Bar, Hotel Riudor, The Meeting Point, Jumping Jacks, Morgan Tavern, Western Saloon, Hotel California, Phillipines 10, Hotel Ambassador 1, Hotel Ambassador 2, Hotel Presidente, Hotel Riviera, Rockerfellas, Zodiaco, Palladium, Grupo TIKI, Silver Dollar, Gold Dollar, Million Dollar, Silver City, Sinatras, Jockers, Chaplins, Rockys, Planet Benidorm, Broadway, The Square, Why Not and Yorkshire Pride 1.
The organisers have pointed out that "a significant response to this solidarity action is expected precisely because the fundraising coincides with the Fancy Dress parade", whose parade "will reduce the number of participating floats by half".
In this regard, the Councillor for Events and Citizen Security, Jesús Carrobles, has pointed out that “from the City Council we are going to maintain the special security device that had been planned for this event, since the influx of British public is expected to be as high as expected, since we are aware that, apart from the participants who are already in Benidorm, the people who had their flights and stays booked to experience the Fancy Dress are going to travel to the city anyway”.
