The Department of Mobility of the Benidorm City Council has reported the first traffic cuts and diversions that will be operational in the city starting this week on the occasion of the Fallas celebration, and which are located in the areas close to the points where the monuments of the festive entities are planted. Specifically, the first cuts that will begin to operate are those that affect the areas where fairs, monuments and/or Fallas celebrations are set up in Els Tolls and Rincón de Loix.
In the central area, due to the installation of the Falla Els Tolls fair, the cuts will take place starting this Thursday, March 13, at 11:30 p.m., and will last for a week, until Thursday, March 20, at 3 a.m. Specifically, the section of Calle Tomás Ortuño between Calle Marte-Venus and Calle Ondulada will be closed to traffic in the incoming direction. Both the exit of vehicles from Calle Ondulada and from Maravall towards El Cruce will be operational.
On the other hand, in Rincón de Loix, a section of Ametlla del Mar avenue has also been closed to traffic, from Estocolmo street to Madrid avenue, for the setting up of the tent of this Fallas commission. This cut will be extended to the Mediterranean avenue starting on the night of next Wednesday, the 13th, and will last until March 21st.
The Department of Mobility, headed by the councillor Francis Muñoz, has indicated that in addition to the closure of these roads to traffic, there will also be occasional road closures during the Josefina festivities. Specifically, from Monday, March 17, for the celebration of parades, fireworks events or the cremà of the monuments, which will be duly reported on in the coming days.
