The accessible beach service, located in the Basseta de l'Oli area, on the central beach, is available from 10.00 to 17.00 without interruption every day until September 15.
More than 100 users enjoy the services of the accessible beach of Vila Joiosa every day. Mayor Marcos Zaragoza and the councilor for Social Welfare and Equality, Maite Sánchez, have visited the accessible beach, located in the Basseta de l'Oli area, on the central beach.
"The accessible beach is very well received and users of all ages come every day, especially families and elderly people with mobility problems. For this reason, we have committed to improving its services, we have extended the hours in an uninterrupted manner and we have acquired more resources to improve the enjoyment of the beach and swimming for users", points out the Mayor. The accessible beach service is available from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM non-stop every day until September 15th.
For his part, the mayor of Social Services and Equality, Maite Sánchez, explained that sets of crutches for entering the water and two new amphibious chairs have been purchased, so users have five chairs for dive into the sea in total comfort and safety.
The accessible beach has a capacity of 30 people, who are looked after by 6 qualified professionals, in addition to having infrastructure adapted to the needs of users. This season, a new shade area and a platform have been installed to facilitate the mobility of users.
In addition, the Social Services and Equality council offers a free transport service to the beach accessible to people with mobility problems from July 1 to August 30.
Another novelty this summer and which is also successful is the free transport service to access Center beach from Avinguda del País Valencià. The Urban Mobility Council offers a shuttle every day from 10.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and from 4.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. until September 15, which runs an uninterrupted circular route to replace the mechanical ramps in the Censal park and thus guarantee accessibility to Centre beach.
Mayor Marcos Zaragoza emphasizes that "residents and tourists are enjoying an excellent summer season as all the beaches have services that guarantee cleanliness, safety and comfort to each one of them, in addition to the fact that we check daily the quality of the waters. An example is the record number of flags certifying the quality and excellence of our beaches".
