7 November 2025 | Benidorm
The promoter announced their unilateral decision just minutes before making it official via social media; a decision we deeply regret.
Over the last 14 years, Benidorm has hosted the Low Festival in a partnership that has become synonymous with the city’s summer cultural calendar. The festival is widely recognised as a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable music event offering a mix of indie, pop and electronic acts across multiple stages, combining beach-town energy with serious production values.
With the previous contract expired this past July and no opportunity for renewal, the City Council has always been keen to reach an agreement to ensure the festival’s continued presence in Benidorm. However, the conditions demanded by the promoter to remain in the city proved incompatible with the City Council’s new requirements for event management. One of the principal issues has been the proposed schedule, specifically the requirement that the music broadcast conclude at 2:30 a.m. on weekends — a condition the promoter found unworkable.
We acknowledge and thank Producciones Baltimore for the shared experience over these many years. During this time, Benidorm strengthened its positioning as an events city, and the festival’s promoter expanded into new territories and cities.
The festival’s ambitious commitment to sustainability and accessibility has been noteworthy. In recent editions, Low Festival incorporated initiatives such as solar-powered stages, zero single-use plastics, enhanced accessibility zones, and local-supplier prioritisation — all of which have helped raise the bar for festival production in Spain.
As the City Council, we regret the outcome and remain open to future collaborative cultural initiatives that align with our updated framework for event safety, environmental responsibility and social impact.
