The Mayor and the Councillor for Events attend the event organised at the Prado del Rey studios and which marks the start of the countdown to a “great edition”
The names of the artists and their songs were already known, but it was today when we were finally able to hear the 16 songs that will compete in the Benidorm Fest 2025 to become Spain's representative in the next Eurovision contest. One by one, the 16 artists of this new edition of the Benidorm Fest have paraded through the RTVE studios in Prado del Rey: Carla Frigo; Celine Van Heel; Chica Sobresalto; Daniela Blasco; David Alfonso; DeTeresa; Henry Semler; J Kbello; K!ngdom; Kuve; Lachispa; Lucas Bun; Mawot; Mel Ömana; Melody; and Sonia and Selena.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councillor for Events, Jesús Carrobles, attended this presentation, which was followed live on RTVE Play and with which the countdown began for a "great edition", in the words of the first mayor. Prior to the presentation, both held a coordination meeting with representatives of the public channel to advance in the preparations for a “fully consolidated” event, which “carries the name of Benidorm around the world” and which since its first edition has revealed itself as “a lever for Spanish musical culture”.
In a few weeks, the work of setting up the Benidorm Fest venue will begin at the Palau d'Esports l'Illa in Benidorm. The first of the semi-finals will be held on January 28, and two days later it will be the turn of the second. On Saturday, February 1, the grand final will be held, from which the song that will represent Spain in the Eurovision contest will emerge, which this year is being held in the Swiss city of Basel.
