To commemorate the 320th anniversary of La Nucía (1705-2025)
Yesterday afternoon, the 19th Medieval Market of La Nucía opened its doors to commemorate the 320th anniversary of the founding of La Nucía (1705-2025). Forty-seven stalls of signature crafts make up this Medieval Market, which can be visited over three busy days (from July 11th to 13th). Visitors can enjoy this craft fair, with entertainment, juggling, dancing, music, and live demonstrations. Admission is free and the opening hours are from 6 p.m. to midnight.
The Medieval Market is an initiative of La Nucía Town Council to celebrate the 320th anniversary of the town (1705-2025) and is organized by AMATA (Association for the Improvement of Traditional and Modern Crafts), which guarantees that all stalls feature exclusively signature crafts.
The opening of the Medieval Market was attended by Bernabé Cano , Mayor of La Nucía, Cristóbal Llorens, Councilor for Festivals and Elvira Geurts , AMATA president, as well as Agatha Velasco and Claudia Caballero, ladies of the 2024 August Festivals. Also participating were councilors Jessica Gommans, Miguel A. Ivorra, María Jesús Jumilla, Pedro Lloret, Gemma Márquez, Sergio Villalba, Beatriz Pérez-Hickman, Serafín López and Manuel Alcalá.
Three days of Medieval Market
This designer craft fair is located in the heart of the old town, next to the Town Hall: Plaça Sant Antoni, Carrer Els Xorros, Plaça Santa Teresa, Carrer Major, Carrer Enmig, Plaça Sant Josep, and Plaça Major. It runs from today, Friday, July 11th, to Sunday, July 13th, from 6 pm to midnight. Admission is free. All visitors can park conveniently less than 50 meters from the market in the Planet and Les Nits parking lots.
Authentic Craftsmanship
The La Nucía Medieval Market 2025 is made up of 47 stalls selling authentic designer crafts with live demonstrations, where artisans create pieces to order on the spot and in front of the public: blacksmithing, ceramics and pottery, glass, designer jewelry and costume jewelry, carved wood and marquetry, handmade soaps and perfumes, and much more.
The gastronomic corner features food stalls selling artisan cheeses and sausages, nuts, jams, and sweets, as well as a medieval tavern, a grocery store, and a tent serving Arabic food.
There are also stalls selling artisans from La Nucía, such as the La Nucía Cancer Association, which sells handicrafts made by its active volunteers to raise funds for cancer research.
Animation and Medieval Fights
To entertain visitors, the market features troubadours, stilt walkers, knights, dancers, musicians, and other figures who mingle with the public. To complete the medieval atmosphere, a small camp has been set up in Plaça Sant Josep , where demonstrations and workshops on medieval combat, archery, and fencing are held. The market closes each evening with a fire show in Plaça Major. For children, there is a play area with medieval games, pottery workshops, and a fun carousel. Israel Martínez, and staff from Turisme Comunitat Valenciana also traveled to Seville. Today, they held a working meeting at the city's promotional stand with the Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, and the Councilor for Equality, Juan Luis García.
