The operators of the council offices of Technical Services, Beaches and Urban Scene have worked in a coordinated manner in the preparation and rehabilitation of the urban furniture of the promenade and the central beach. These public infrastructures are already in optimal condition to be enjoyed at the start of the beach season.
On the one hand, the operators have painted the 1400 meters of wall and wood that separates the beach from the promenade. Several fragments of wood that were in a bad state of preservation have been replaced from this wall. Likewise, the beach access railings have been welded, water hoses have been prepared to clean the footwashes and wooden walkways have been placed on the sand to facilitate access for users.
In addition, the technicians have applied an anti-urine treatment to the bases of the lighting lanterns, as well as pruning the palm trees and trimming the landscaping placed on the promenade.
On the other hand, the operators have carried out various repair and maintenance tasks on Paseo de Sant Pere, on the central beach. Among other things, they have replaced street furniture, such as wooden elements in poor condition with concrete elements, they have painted the planters, pruned the plants and revised the light fixtures. In addition, municipal employees have put into operation the fountain in Plaça de Sant Pere, which dates from the 18th century. Also, the concrete blocks on Paseo Sant Pere have been replaced by bollards, in order to unify the urban furniture and the image of the coastal facade of the municipality.
