Local & Spanish

Everything is set for three days of top-level beach volleyball in La Cala de Finestrat, bringing together elite athletes, Olympic stars, and passionate amateurs from across Spain and beyond.
The highlight will be Friday, August 15, when the oldest 4x4 beach volleyball tournament in Spain celebrates its 48th edition. Held every year since its creation, this iconic competition mixes professional players with amateurs in a vibrant, open-air showdown that has become a summer tradition.
Following the main event, the action continues:
Saturday, August 16th – 8th Mixed Amateur 4x4 Tournament, a growing favourite among local and visiting players.
Sunday, August 17th Grand Final of the Valencian Community Beach Volleyball Tour, a qualifying event for the Spanish Championship. This decisive stage will feature the men’s and women’s 2x2 categories, with some of the best pairs in Spain and athletes from over ten nationalities.
Big Names on the Sand
This year’s edition welcomes Cuban international star Elian Mestrada, considered one of the best players in the world. He will take part in special on-court challenges for young players at 10:45 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., offering a rare chance to compete alongside a champion.
Also confirmed are celebrated athletes Rebeca Fernández and Ainoa Niravalles, former Super League players with Finestrat Volleyball Club, both tipped as podium contenders.
A Tournament in Numbers
Over 100 teams registered
More than 400 players
Around 250 participants in the August 15 main event alone
Competitors from 10+ nationalities
With players, fans, and companions filling the stands and terraces, the tournament is set to boost local hospitality and make La Cala de Finestrat the beating heart of Spanish beach volleyball once again.
Organisers Speak Out
