Vila Joiosa has introduced Xocolatíssima at the Valencian Community stand, as another advertisement for the Gastronomic Village and with the aim of highlighting the tradition of the municipality's chocolate industry.
The chocolates of the four Vileras brands were the protagonists at the Valencian Community stand at Fitur. In order to promote the products and tradition of the chocolate industry since the 17th century, the Tourism Department offered a tasting of the four Vileras chocolates, Valor, Pérez, Clavileño and Marcos Tonda, at the Valencian Community stand. The session was given by Juan Rubio, the only Spaniard who is part of the Grand Jury of the World Final Chocolate Awards and chocolate sommelier of the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Coque, in Madrid. In this way, Xocolatíssima was introduced as one of the events that is part of the Gastronomic Village, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary and for whose anniversary the Vila Joiosa City Council has prepared a special agenda of events throughout the year.
Mayor Marcos Zaragoza highlighted that "Vila Joyosa is the town of colors, but it is also the town of chocolate and we want to position the municipality as a quality gastronomic destination and an industrial tourism destination, as well as highlighting the tradition of the chocolate industry which today continues to be an important economic driver."
The tasting was also attended by the godmother of the Gastronomic Village, Susi Díaz.
