The Government Delegation against Gender Violence has confirmed, as a new case of gender violence, the death of a woman who in principle was alleged to a traffic accident that occurred on 25th September on the Los Barrios highway (Cádiz ), in which a motorcade, traveling in the opposite direction, collided with a truck. After unlocking the vehicle, the lifeless bodies of the woman and her partner were found.

Once the autopsy was carried out, the Government Delegation against Gender Violence has certified that the death of the 41-year-old woman occurred before the accident and that the body showed signs of gender violence.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, representing the entire Municipal Corporation, have shown their rejection of the sexist violence that has ended, so far this year, with the lives of 36 women and left 17 minor orphans.

The Benidorm City Council recalls that, through the Department of Equality, it makes available to any woman who may feel threatened, the municipal services specialised in gender violence. Likewise, it recalled the existence of the telephone number 016 against Gender Violence, which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and in 53 languages ​​for women who need it.
