The British Business Association has launched a food bank to help those who are struggling financially during the Covid-19 crisis.

They say, "we are raising money and putting together bags for the most vulnerable and vouchers for families, the elderly, the homeless and the unemployed”.

They have put in place a screening process to make sure that only those who need it the most will receive the support.

They have also said to Cool Radio News; "Many people need the help and as a community we are doing what we can. The food bank is Benidorm based but we want to help as many people as possible. We have arranged trolleys for donations in supermarkets in Albir and other areas too. We all have to pull together!".

Also the British Business Association is working with the Benidorm Town Hall and British Consulate to help the homeless at this time via repatriations or directing them to a new homeless centre being made available in the old town. Plus, they can help anyone who needs to return to the UK or find temporary rental accommodation here in Spain.

A Facebook donation page has been set up to support the food bank with every cent going towards helping as many people as possible, who are in financial or other difficulties, in Benidorm and the surrounding area. The target is €1,500 and currently €836 has already been raised. You can find the link by: Clicking Here . Please give what you can.

They held their first food bank session last week and they have had an amazing response and wish to thank all those who have donated so far.
