208 Boxers from 28 countries in the Boxam International Elite in La Nucía

“La Nucía, City of Sports” is the headquarters of the Boxam International Elite 2024 Tournament , which brings together 208 boxers from 28 countries. This international elite men's and women's boxing competition started yesterday afternoon with the opening ceremony and the first day of combat. International boxing tournament to prepare for the Paris 2024 pre-Olympic.

 

The Boxam International Elite 2024 Tournament will take place  until Saturday, February 3, at the Muixara Pavilion of the Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano in La Nucía . This elite boxing competition serves boxers from before the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifier, which will be held in Italy. In fact, there are many participants with the “passport” already for the imminent Paris 2024 Olympics, next summer.

 

The Boxam Internacional de La Nucía is organsed by the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation and the EUBC (European Boxing Confederation) with the collaboration of the Generalitat Valenciana , the Alicante Provincial Council , the Higher Sports Council , the Spanish Olympic Committee and the La Nucía City Council. . 

 

The opening day was attended by Felipe Martínez , president of the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation and Jessica Gommans , councilor for International Residents of the La Nucía City Council.

 

208 boxers

In total, 208 boxers compete in this International Boxing Tournament in La Nucía, where a total of 183 fights can be seen during the five days of competition. There are athletes from 28 countries: Bahrain, Belgium, Chinese Taipei, England, France, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy,

 

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Mexico, Palestine, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia , Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Uzbekistan and Wales. 

 

Promotion and economic return

For the third consecutive year, La Nucía hosts an International Boxing Tournament in its sports facilities. A sporting event that will be a great promotion for the brand of “La Nucía, City of Sports” at an international level, since athletes from 28 countries participate. At the same time, it will generate a great economic return in La Nucía and the region due to the more than 1,500 overnight stays and hotel stays generated by this  Boxam International Elite 2024 Tournament . 

 

It is the first of the great “Sports Events 2024” that La Nucía hosts in this Olympic year , which were presented last week at FITUR in Madrid
