Last Saturday, the Generalitat Valenciana issued a joint order restricting access to 17 natural parks in the Valencian Community. From Saturday through today, Monday, August 18, 2025 (both days inclusive), pedestrian transit on trails and cross-country routes, whether on foot or by any type of vehicle, is prohibited.
The order also maintains Pre-emergency Level 3 of the Special Plan against Forest Fire Risk in the Valencian Community (PEIF).
As part of the measures:
Pedestrian and vehicle traffic on trails and cross-country routes is banned.
Construction work on forest land and nearby areas is suspended.
The festive or recreational use of fire is prohibited within a 500-meter radius of these areas.
Lighting any type of fire on forest land or within its 500-meter zone of influence is forbidden.
Existing licenses or permits for recreational activities in forest areas are suspended.
The restrictions apply to the following 17 natural areas: Serra d'Irta, Penyagolosa, Desert de les Palmes, Tinença de Benifassà, Serra d'Espadà, Serra Calderona, Chera-Sot de Chera, Puebla de San Miguel, Túria, Hoces del Cabriel, Serra de Mariola, Font Roja, El Montgó, Serra Gelada, Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca, Marjal Pego-Oliva, and the forest area of the Albufera Natural Park.
