Benidorm City Council has set up a collection point for aid for those affected by the DANA, which will be operational this Saturday and Sunday, 2 and 3 November, at the Palau d'Esports l'Illa from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. According to the needs reported by the Emergency Coordination, shoes and socks, bottled water, milk, non-perishable foods and foods for direct consumption without cooking are required.
In addition to this collection of aid, there are also the technical, logistical and human resources deployed by the City Council and municipal concessionaires to the area most affected by the DANA. Specifically, at this time there are around 70 agents of the Benidorm Local Police in Paiporta collaborating in the tasks of searching for missing persons and providing care to those affected.
For its part, the company in charge of the Integrated Water Cycle, HIdraqua, has brought numerous portable tanks to the most affected areas to supply drinking water to the public. These are small tanks with the pipes and connections necessary to install water filling points wherever necessary.
The vehicles carrying these deposits have already returned to Benidorm and further trips with the necessary material are not ruled out when they are requested again.
Specialised personnel traveled with the trucks carrying the water tanks to ensure they were in perfect working order and to provide assistance to the affected population.
The urban transport concessionaire, Avanza, has also sent four buses to Valencia to assist with transporting those affected.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, stressed that “the City Council has made available to the organisations and entities working in the area the technical and human resources of the municipality and the concessionary companies for anything they may need.”
