The mayor highlights the City Council's commitment "to continue working towards accessibility and eliminating barriers on our beaches."
The Benidorm City Council recently unveiled the addition of three new children's amphibious chairs to its accessible beach areas, representing a €4,867.50 investment. These ISO-certified chairs will be available at the accessible beach points located in La Cala, Parque de Elche, and Levante.
Mayor Toni Pérez, joined by the Councilor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez, affirmed the City Council's unwavering commitment to improving accessibility and removing barriers on Benidorm's beaches. The City Council has consistently enhanced the service throughout the years, adding more amphibious chairs, increasing support and rescue personnel, and expanding equipment.
Benidorm's accessible beaches operate with extended hours during the summer, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. between June 1st and September 30th. Winter hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the remainder of the year, with a closure period between January 15th and February 14th. Each accessible location offers various amenities to facilitate adapted bathing and a comfortable experience, including access ramps, walkways leading to the sea, adapted changing rooms and restrooms, adult amphibious chairs, and various sizes of amphibious crutches.
