As in previous years, there will again be three categories: hotels, hospitality and shops.
Benidorm will celebrate the XXXI edition of the Christmas Window Dressing Competition, which will take place from November 25, when registration opens for establishments wishing to participate. The registration period will end on December 5. This year, like the previous one, the competition will distribute almost 8,000 euros in prizes aimed at promoting and promoting businesses.
The Councillor for Commerce, Javier Jordá, presented this edition of the competition today, accompanied by the president of AICO, Raúl Parra, and Nadia Pérez, representative of Abreca-Cobreca. At the presentation, the councillor stressed that the same categories will be repeated as in previous years, that is: hotels, hospitality establishments and shops. “The idea of the competition is to promote shopping and create a Christmas atmosphere in the city” said Jordá.
“The criteria for evaluating the participants will take into account the creativity of the decoration, its originality, the thematic setting, the aesthetics and the advertising on social networks” the councillor has pointed out. The rules, he added, are already published on the municipal website.
The winners of the competition will be announced during the gala that will be held on December 20 at 9 p.m. “Each participant will enter the draw for a Christmas basket, although they must be present at the gala” indicated the councillor.
As for the prizes, Javier Jordá has pointed out that they will be the same as in the last edition, although on this occasion they have sought more “the dissemination and promotion of the establishments on social networks”. Thus, in the hospitality/catering category, the first prize, valued at 2,000 euros, will consist of 1,500 euros in cash and another 500 in a photo and video report to improve the digital visibility of the establishment and its commercial offer on networks and platforms. The second prize, valued at 1,000 euros, will offer 500 euros in cash and the photo and video report. The third prize will be 250 euros in cash and the report valued at 500 euros.
As for the retail category, the prizes will be identical to those in the hospitality category. Finally, in the hotel category, the prizes will consist of commemorative plaques and a communication campaign on social networks, according to the Councillor for Commerce.
There will also be a prize for the establishment associated with AICO, consisting of a Tablet valued at 250 euros for the associates who participate in the competition. Abreca associates will also be eligible for an equal prize. And the registered establishments in the retail, catering and hotel sector will participate in the draw for a Christmas basket valued at 150 euros, which will take place at the end of the Gala on the 20th.
Raúl Parra, president of AICO, has thanked the City Council for holding these types of competitions and initiatives “which are very beneficial for the city” and which “contribute to filling the city and the shops”. “That is why it is very important to continue working on them and to attract people from other nearby towns”. Nadia Pérez has also encouraged “everyone to participate and to consume during these dates” while councillor Javier Jordá has hoped that “it will be a record edition”.
