The Benidorm City Council has organised two Euroclub parties that will be added to the parallel activities that will take place in the city from 24 January on the occasion of the fourth edition of the Benidorm Fest, which will hold its two semi-finals on 28 and 30 January and its grand final on 1 February at the Palau d'Esports l'Illa in Benidorm. This was announced on Wednesday by the mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, after the press conference held in Madrid and where Radio Televisión Española announced the names of the presenters of the contest: Paula Vázquez, Ruth Lorenzo and Inés Hernand, who will also be joined on other programmes by other well-known faces of the channel, such as Lalachus, Aitor Albizua and Jordi Cruz.
The two Euroclub parties organised by the Council will take place on Wednesday 29 and Friday 31 January; The first will take place in a nightclub in the city and the second will take place in the Julio Iglesias Auditorium in the Parque de l'Aigüera. Numerous artists will perform at the latter to entertain thousands of people on the night before the grand final. Among them, Nebulossa and Blanca Paloma, winners of the third and second editions of the Benidorm Fest; as well as Marta Sango, Almácor, Sofía Coll, Megara and Chloe de la Rosa, together with the contestants who did not qualify in the two semi-finals of this edition.
Toni Pérez, who participated in the press conference offered by RTVE in Madrid together with the Councillor for Events, Jesús Carrobles, has pointed out that these two Euroclub parties "complete a whole week of activities centred on the Benidorm Fest", which will start on 24 January with the inauguration of the 'village' in the Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España, where there will be 'food trucks' and other leisure activities throughout the week. The mayor also highlighted that "there will also be a space to disseminate and remember the origins of everything related to the current Benidorm Fest, such as our Benidorm Song Festival", with a retrospective exhibition on the birth of this legendary competition organised by the City Council and RTVE and which can be seen from 25 January to 2 February at the City Council's Espai d'Art.
In addition, within this parallel programme organised by the city, the Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España will host the broadcast of the second semi-final and the final on giant screens on Thursday 30 and Saturday 1 February.
The mayor stressed that “we are sure that Benidorm will once again be involved in the Benidorm Fest, an event that will bring thousands of people to our city to enjoy the music and the atmosphere that revolves around this phenomenal contest, which we will continue to support.” In this regard, Toni Pérez pointed out that the 'Fest' is “a top-level show that is backed by a huge and impressive technical team from RTVE and by the support of the Generalitat Valenciana,” recalling that it “generates a return of incalculable value for Benidorm,” both at a promotional and reputational level, by making it “the national and international focus for all music lovers and for something as big as Eurovision.”
News about the competition
Regarding the announcements made today by RTVE about this fourth edition of the Benidorm Fest, the director of Communication and Participation of the public entity, together with Ana Bordás and César Vallejo, co-directors of the Benidorm Fest, have announced the list of finalists who will perform in each of the semi-finals. Thus, in the first gala, on January 28, the following will compete: Chica Sobresalto, Daniela Blasco, David Afonso, K!NGDOM, Kuve, Lachispa, Lucas Bun and Sonia and Selena; while in the second semi-final, on January 30, the following will compete: Carla Frigo, Celine Van Heel, DeTeresa, Henry Semler, J Kbello, Melody, Mel Ömana and Mawot.
In addition to the two semi-finals and the grand final, which will be presented by Paula Vázquez, Ruth Lorenzo and Inés Hernand, La 1 de TVE will also broadcast live from the city on 1 February a programme called 'La noche del Benidorm Fest', hosted by Lalachus and Aitor Albizua, with the first reactions to the winners of the Bronze Microphone, who will represent Spain in the Eurovision final in Basel, Switzerland, next May.
In addition, there will also be other programmes on RTVE Play, such as 'Benidorm Calling', which will be broadcast online before the start of the three galas and will feature the participation of Jordi Cruz, Iván García and Masi.
RTVE has stated that for the public entity the Benidorm Fest is “a great television event” and a “huge commitment by the network”, which is why in addition to broadcasting in our country and via the Internet, it will also have special programming on Radio Nacional de España and on Radio Exterior, broadcasting for the first time to Canada, the United States, Central America and Latin America.
