The municipal brigade of Municipal Technical Services is taking advantage of these dates to carry out some actions and interventions for improvement and repair in public places with high attendance during high season. Actions that are being carried out in different parts of the city with the aim that with the arrival of tourists in high season the city presents the best possible image.
The 'At street level' campaign, with the councilors of Citizen Participation, Public Space, Parks and Gardens and Street Cleaning; Ana Pellicer, Francis Muñoz, José Ramón González de Zárate and Luis Navarro, visited some of these actions today, accompanied by the vice president of the Neighbourhood Council, Antonio Zamora.
Some of the areas in which work is being done are Calle Mallorca, in the section that goes from Mediterráneo to Ibiza, Plaza del Castell, the Poniente and Levante promenades and l'Aigüera Park, among other points.
The municipal delegation traveled today to Mallorca Street, where the work includes maintenance work on the pavement with the application of a special paint for pavements. This intervention, which will be completed in about ten days, will give the street a better image. The road benches are also being painted with a special paint that eliminates porosity and makes the subsequent removal of dirt or graffiti easier.
On the other hand, the municipal technical services have also acted on the Castell balustrade and the concrete benches in many areas of the town.
The ball net has also been installed on the multisports court in l'Aigüera Park and work is underway to repair tree pits on several avenues.
“These are small-scale works that, however, greatly improve the image of our city,” said Francis Muñoz, who stated that “we do them now that there are fewer visitors in the city and the inconvenience is less” with the so that "when the high season arrives after Easter, our tourists will find a well-kept urban scene."
