Benidorm / 5 March 2026
Benidorm’s Local Police will celebrate the 182nd anniversary of its founding on Saturday 7 March, with a programme of events taking place in the days leading up to the official ceremony.
The main celebrations will take place on Saturday on Calle Bilbao, beginning with a police demonstration at 11:30am, followed by the official ceremony at 12 noon, which will be attended by local authorities.
In addition to the main event, a number of activities have been organised earlier in the week to allow residents and schoolchildren to learn more about the work of the Local Police.
A traditional open day will be held on tomorrow,Friday, 6 March from 5pm, giving members of the public the opportunity to visit the facilities and meet officers.
As a new initiative this year, schools have been invited to take part in guided tours of the police headquarters so pupils can see first-hand how the service operates, how officers coordinate their work and what their daily duties involve.
The guided visits will take place on today, Thursday, and tomorrow, Friday, morning from 9:30am to 2:30pm, with groups attending at 55-minute intervals.
So far, around 500 pupils from schools across Benidorm have confirmed their participation.
The visits will also be attended by the councillors for Citizen Security, Jesús Carrobles, and Education, Maite Moreno.
