This is an initiative to raise funds for the organisation of the celebrations next November
The Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals will once again host its traditional “Euro Marathon” this Saturday, September 20, to raise funds for Benidorm’s Patron Saint Festivities taking place from November 8 to 12.
The initiative, which has become a yearly tradition, is supported by local businesses, hospitality establishments, residents, and tourists alike. This year’s collection will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tomás Ortuño Street, near l’Hort de Colón, where participants will deposit one-euro coins to help finance the festivities.
Councilor for Festivities, Mariló Cebreros, explained that the 2025 Festes Majors Patronals queens, Paula Pascual Sánchez and Aitana Pérez Guitiérrez, along with their courts of honor, will help kick off the event, joined by Commission president Susana Martínez and members of the Municipal Corporation. “As always, we want to support this initiative so that next November we can celebrate the best possible fiestas,” she said.
Cebreros also invited the public to take part, encouraging individuals and businesses to come to Hort de Colón to make their contributions. As tradition dictates, the queens and their ladies-in-waiting will also tour local shops and establishments throughout the day to collect donations.
In addition to contributing with one-euro coins, supporters can also collaborate by visiting the Commission’s fundraising bar, where sandwiches and soft drinks will be available. Another option is the “Un metre per la festa” (A Meter for the Party) initiative, through which groups, businesses, or clubs can contribute €43—the equivalent of one linear meter—to the overall collection.
