Finestrat celebrates its traditional CHRISTMAS MARKET on the weekend of December 13-15

 

• MORE THAN 50 HANDICRAFT STALLS, POPULAR GASTRONOMY, CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT, A VISIT FROM SANTA CLAUS, DISNEY CHARACTERS, “SNOWFALL” AND THE GREAT MUSICAL “MAGIC TALES”
• THERE WILL BE A BUS FROM LA CALA AND URBANIZATIONS AND A SHUTTLE BUS FROM THE PARKING OF THE FOIA SPORTS AREA TO THE MARKET

 

Finestrat is once again filled with magic and excitement for its traditional Christmas Market. It will take place from 13 to 15 December and will take place in a new location: Plaça de la Unió Europea. This weekend, more than 50 stalls selling crafts, popular food, typical Christmas decorations, and a large Christmas tree will preside over this square to bring and share the Christmas spirit between locals and visitors. There will be children's entertainment, face painting, live music, the ANEMOI Street View dance show, the great musical “Cuentos Mágicos”, well-known Disney characters and the most anticipated visit of the year for the little ones in the house: Santa Claus.

 

The Mayor, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, the Councillor for Markets, Donna Rebecca Plummer, the Market Coordinator, Carlos Llorca, and the board of directors of the Finestrat Women's Association, Teresa Climent and Marilís Mayor, were present at the presentation of the programme of events.

 

“We are very excited and looking forward to this weekend to celebrate our traditional Christmas Market,” said the councillor, Donna R. Plummer . “This is the 5th edition. And, as a novelty, we are moving to a new location, as we are going to concentrate all the stalls and the programme of events in the same space: the Plaça de la Unió Europea. There we will have 50 stalls selling handicrafts and Christmas decorations. We will also be cooking typical recipes with the Comissió de Festes El Balconet. As always, we will count on the collaboration of local groups such as the Associació de Dones de Finestrat, the two schools and Cáritas. Of course, we invite you all, residents of Finestrat and the region, visitors: come and discover, experience, and dream about the Finestrat Christmas Market.”

 

Among the scheduled events, there will be several visits from Santa Claus, Disney characters , the awarding of prizes to the winners of the 17th Christmas Card Competition of the Youth Department. “This will be on Friday 13th in the afternoon. We will make an inaugural tour and, I can already tell you, there will be a heavy snowfall. On Saturday 14th, at 12:00 noon, we will have the ANEMOI Street View show by the Rajatabla Danza company”, which is part of the Circuit Cultural Valencià; the tribute to IL DIVO ( Saturday 14th, at 7:00 p.m.); and on Sunday 15th, at 6:00 p.m., the Christmas concert by the Rondalla Cordes i Veus Font del Molí (function room of the House of Culture); and in Plaça de la Unió Europea, starting at 7 pm, one of the star performances of this Market, the Great Musical “Magical Tales” directed by the singer Alba Ed-Dounia, known for her participation in LA VOZ 2022. “It is a musical full of color, energy, illusion and magic; performed with live voices of artists who have participated in some of the best-known talent show competitions at the Valencian and national level, such as La Voz Kids, Top Star, Family Duo, Fantastic Duo, Quiero Cantar…”.
