The Finestrat City Council’s Department of Festivals is getting ready for one of the year’s most eagerly awaited celebrations — Halloween! This year’s festivities will take place on Thursday, 31st October, and Saturday, 1st November, in collaboration with the newly formed 2026 Festival Commission “La Xirimbela.” Together, they have unveiled a thrilling line-up of events to ensure Finestrat celebrates Halloween in true spooky style.
The fun kicks off on Thursday, 31st October, with an animated Halloween parade departing from the children’s playground on Carrer Serra Cortina at 6:00 p.m. The procession will wind its way through Finestrat’s historic centre before arriving at the Plaça de la Unió Europea, where the La Xirimbela Commission will be waiting with snacks for the little ones and a bar offering drinks at affordable prices for adults, starting from 7:00 p.m.
Snack tickets will be available for purchase in advance from Monday, 20th October to Thursday, 23rd October at the CEIP Balcó de Finestrat (during school hours) and also at the Finestrat Youth Centre between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m.
But that’s not all — the celebrations continue on Saturday, 1st November, with a Halloween Dance Party at the Sala Jove, starting at midnight, featuring the vibrant beats of DJ Balinet. As Councillor for Festivals Sara Llorca put it, “The young people of Finestrat won’t want to miss this ‘Night of All Souls’!”
Councillor Llorca added:
“During the spookiest afternoon snack of the year on 31st October, there will be inflatables, a candy bar, a mini children’s disco with a fun horror theme, and plenty more surprises waiting to be discovered. We’ve worked closely with the new Festival Commission, La Xirimbela, to create a programme that everyone can enjoy — especially children and young people. We’re very excited for what’s to come!”
Halloween Craft Workshop: Kicking Off the Week of Fun
The Halloween celebrations will begin earlier in the week, on Monday, 27th October, with a Halloween Craft Workshop at the Youth Centre. There will be two sessions:
5:00 – 6:00 p.m. for children aged 3 to 6
6:00 – 7:00 p.m. for children aged 7 to 12
Places are limited, and pre-registration is required via www.agendafinestrat.es.
Councillor Llorca also highlighted the importance of community involvement:
“This is our first event together with the new Festival Commission, La Xirimbela, and we’re delighted to offer a programme that brings Halloween closer to everyone. From crafts workshops to parades and a dance party, there’s something for all ages. We can’t wait to celebrate with the whole town!”
