The oldest beer festival in the Valencian Community
This afternoon the “ 36th Oktoberfest” was officially inaugurated with the traditional “ opening of the first keg ” by Gabriele Schäfer, pta. CCC, organiser of Oktoberfest and Bernabé Cano , mayor of La Nucía . This “ Beer Festival ” will take place until October 13th in the parking lot of the Camilo Cano Olympic Stadium in La Nucía, with free admission.
The big tent of the Oktoberfest in La Nucía hosted the official opening of this " Beer Festival" , which will take place for 11 intense days in the parking lot of the Olympic Stadium in La Nucía, from October 3 to 13. The start of the Oktoberfest was with the " traditional opening of the first barrel of beer " by Gabriele Schäfer , pta. CCC organiser Oktoberfest and Bernabé Cano , mayor of La Nucía. Before, the new queen of the Oktoberfest 2024 was crowned, Natalia Llorens . The event was attended by the queen of les Festes d'Agost 2024 Andrea Jumilla and her court of honour.
Also attending were Juan de Dios Navarro , deputy of International Residents and Ana Serna, vice president of the Provincial Council of Alicante , as well as various personalities such as the mayors of Villajoyosa, Orxeta, Guadalest, Bolulla, Callosa d'Ensarrià and Finestrat .
“A benchmark at the regional and national level”
The provincial deputy stressed the importance of organizing events such as this " Beer Festival" to build bridges with the different nationalities that live together in the province of Alicante. These events such as the Oktoberfest in La Nucía serve to integrate Germans living in La Nucía, Marina Baixa and the province of Alicante into society, as here they share experiences with citizens from different countries. A way of getting to know their folklore and customs and of building bridges towards integration. It is an Oktoberfest that is becoming more and more popular and is a reference at the regional and national level " added Juan de Dios Navarro .
The oldest Oktoberfest in Spain
This is the oldest Oktoberfest in Spain with 36 editions and the largest in the Valencian Community . In its fourth edition in La Nucía, with the reservation system, the origin of the visitors is known , people from all over the Valencian Community have already confirmed their presence - highlighting the expeditions of the German students from the Language School -, Albacete, Murcia, the Balearic Islands and even from England, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Germany and France , who have adapted their holidays to coincide with the Oktoberfest in La Nucía.

“Oktoberfest generates more tourism every year”
“The last few weeks have been very hard for the organisers, with a lot of work, but finally everything is ready to enjoy the 11 days of Oktoberfest in La Nucía. In addition, this year we have an even bigger tent so there is more space and tables to enjoy the Oktoberfest . We believe that La Nucía, with more land, more parking, and an outdoor terrace, is the perfect place to celebrate our 36th OktoberFest, where we have reservations even from people from other countries who take advantage of this event to do some sightseeing. 11 intense days
This Oktoberfest is a great tourist promotion for La Nucía during 11 intense days in the month of October. The German community is one of the main international residents in the municipality, so it is hoped that this “ Beer Festival ” will also serve to integrate them into the Nucia society and to make “ German culture, gastronomy and folklore ” known to all attendees.

11 days of Oktoberfest
The Oktoberfest takes place over eleven days, from Thursday 3rd October to Sunday 13th October in the car park of the Camilo Cano Olympic Stadium . A large 2,200 square metre marquee has been set up for this purpose , with capacity for over 1,500 people : where all attendees can enjoy an authentic Bavarian-style “Beer Festival” with live music. German cuisine and live music
In addition to the typical German beer, you can taste typical German cuisine such as “ Knuckle ”, 6 types of “Sausages”, Chicken, “Choucrut”, meatloaf, potato salad, Bretzel, Berliner, rolls……etc. There will also be vegan options.
There are different types of beer : blonde beer - Erdinger Stiftungsbräu -, wheat beer - Erdinger Weissbier -, dark beer - Korbinian - and non-alcoholic beer. As well as other types of drinks and soft drinks. It is an environmentally friendly event and all plates, cutlery and glasses will be made of recycled material, with an ecological certificate.
The musical entertainment at the Oktoberfest in La Nucía is provided by the German folk music group Steinsbserger, a highly awarded “party band” in Germany, made up of 9 musicians.

The Oktoberfest is open on weekdays from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, it is open from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. and on Sundays and public holidays, it is open from 12 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., without interruption.
La Nucía debuts in “Alicante Gastronómica” and presents its events for 2025
The Nucia stand will have showcookings and tastings during the 4 days of the fair
In this 2024 edition, the La Nucía Town Hall has made its debut at the “ Alicante Gastronómica ” fair with its own stand . The Department of Tourism and Commerce has prepared an extensive programme of events to promote Nuciera gastronomy and its restaurants during the four days of this fair . In addition, this “prestigious event” has been used to present the calendar of events of the “ La Nucía Gastronómica ” brand for 2025 .
Alicante Gastronómica takes place this weekend at the IFA exhibition centre this weekend, from 27 to 30 September. La Nucía's stand is number 102 and is located in Pavilion 2 of IFA . This prestigious gastronomic fair will feature more than 250 exhibitors and 400 presentations, workshops and tastings in 2024.

First time in Alicante Gastronomica
For the first time in history, La Nucía has its own stand at “ Alicante Gastronómica ”, a prestigious fair that has established itself as a benchmark at national and international level. The mayor of La Nucía also highlighted the high quality of the gastronomic events planned by La Nucía for 2025, presented today at Alicante Gastronómica, “ highlighting the Gastro Day which becomes Gastro Weekend with three days of activities at the CEM Captivador and the Nit del Vi which is extended to two days in June at Les Nits . We have also announced our new tapas route called “Degusta La Nucía” which starts now in November 2024 and will continue in 2025 ”.
Events of “La Nucía Gastronomica 2025
Taking advantage of this prestigious “ Alicante Gastronómica ”fair that brings together experts, chefs, specialized press, gourmets…etc. this afternoon the calendar of events of “La Nucía Gastronómica 2025” was presented, after its great success in its launch of this brand to promote and highlight Nuciera gastronomy at all levels.
The “ La Nucía Gastronómica 2025 ” calendar will begin with the “monthly tastings” at the Lab_Nucia , a place for meeting, tasting, pairing and presenting new products. “La Nucía Gastro Day” becomes “ La Nucía Gastro Weekend ” in 2025 with three days of activities at the CEM Captivador, on April 5, 6 and 7. After its full capacity in 2024, “ La Nit del Vi ” will have two days in 2025 and will take place on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 June at l'Auditori de Les Nits. The tapas route “ Degusta La Nucía ” will take place next year from October 31 to November 9.
The opportunity was also taken to present the last event of “La Nucía Gastronómica 2024” which will be the new tapas route “Degusta La Nucía” from November 1 to 10 .
La Nucia Stand Programming
Yesterday, Friday, the first day of “Alicante Gastronómica 2024”, the La Nucía stand will begin its activity at 1 p.m. with “ #PuigCampaneando ” a vermouth tasting, where the entire production process will be explained by the owners of the “Puig Campana Vermut” brand, Mari Sánchez and Pere Llinares. The afternoon will be sweetened by the “Bódalo Pastry Shop” with the Milhojas Showcooking by pastry chef Sergio Marco, from 4 to 4.30 p.m. The day will close with “Gourmet Devotion” with its workshop and tasting of flowers with Iberian hams by Alicia Santiago Waite.
Today, Saturday 28th September, from 12 to 12.45pm, the La Nucía stand “ Vinomio Wine & Cheese ” will open with Tony Pardo and Miguel Barahona. It will continue at aperitif time with “ #PuigCampaneando ”, a vermouth tasting , where the entire production process will be explained by Mari Sánchez and Pere Llinares. From 2 to 2.45pm, there will be a “ Cuina Nuciera ” showcooking with the dish “ Olleta d'arrós cuinat i pilota de dacsa ” by Paquita Cano Lledó .
The third day, Sunday, will start from 12 to 12.45 pm at Celler Mar de Vins with a “ Presentation and wine tasting ” with Celeste Fernández and Kiko Ripoll . It will continue at 1 pm with the talk “ The influence of pre-Hispanic food today ” by the Mexican Restaurant El Asador , where a tasting of “Mexican mole” will be offered. The day will close at 6.30 pm at “La Bodega de El Xato”, a wine tasting with the sommelier Francisco Cano from “ Restaurant El Xato i Cristina Figueira ” .

In La Nucia The multitudinous “Cabalgata de Disfraces” had the participation of 25 groups
The parade went along the Marina Baixa avenues and the highway
“Horse Racing”, “Egypt”, “Greece”, “San Fermín”, “Circus”, “Flowers”, “The Nutcracker” or “Indians and Cowboys” were some of the themes of the 25 groups in the “Costume Parade” of the Festes d'Agost de La Nucía 2024. All the groups paraded with their costumes and floats along Avenida Carretera and Marina Baixa. Thousands of people filled the seats along the parade to see the costumes of the La Nucía groups live.
As every year, on August 17th the Costume Parade is held as part of the #LaNuciaEnFestes programme . It is one of the most important events of the Festes d'Agost and one of the most anticipated in La Nucía and the Marina Baixa region. Each group makes its costumes and floats by hand on different themes. The Parade is a parade that fills the main avenues of La Nucía with music, colour and humour. The groups compete with their costumes and handmade floats for prizes every year.
Queen and Ladies
It was Queen Andrea Jumilla Pérez together with her four ladies, who were in charge of closing the cavalcade with a spectacular royal float. Els Majorals 2024- Penya Els Penjats preceded the royal float with its "Circus" theme.
Jury and awards ceremony
The jury for the 2024 #LaNuciaEnFestes Parade is made up of all the groups participating in the parade. The Parade awards will be presented after the musical performance by the “Cucumpà” orchestra , on the stage of the Plaça Major.

La Nucía celebrates its 319th anniversary with concerts, a medieval market and cultural events
Cultural, festive and institutional programming for "July 9, Day of the Bride"
This year, “ 9 de juliol. Dia de La Nucía ” will commemorate the 319th anniversary of the founding of La Nucía (1705-2024) and a cultural, festive and institutional programme has been designed with the 18th Medieval Market, two concerts in the Auditorium, the presentation of a catalogue on the toponymy of La Nucía, an exhibition on the origins of La Nucía and an institutional event. All scheduled activities will have “free admission”.
Once again, La Nucía Town Hall has designed a special programme to commemorate “9th July. La Nucia Day”, to remember that on 9th July 1705 La Nucía was born as an independent town from the Barony of Polop. The aim of this programme is to raise awareness of this historic event in La Nucía, especially among the younger generations.
The presentation of this programme was attended by Elvira Geurts from the AMATA Artisans Association, which coordinates the Medieval Market, Pedro Lloret , Councillor for Culture, Cristóbal Llorens , Councillor for Festivals and Bernabé Cano , Mayor of La Nucía.
XVIII Mercado Medieval
La Nucía travels back to the Middle Ages from 5 to 7 July, through the 18th Medieval Market. This activity commemorates the 319th anniversary of the founding of La Nucía (1705-2024) . This year it includes a medieval camp, knight fights, oriental dances, medieval characters, troubadours, fire shows, workshops for children and demonstrations of crafts. Admission for the public will be free.
The 18th Medieval Market of La Nucía can be visited next week: Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July from 6pm to midnight and will be located in the streets between the Town Hall (plaça Major) and the old Laundry (plaça Sant Antoni).
The Medieval Market is an initiative of the La Nucía Town Hall to celebrate the 319th anniversary of the town (1705-2023) and is organised by AMATA (Association for the Improvement of Traditional and Modern Crafts), which guarantees that all the stalls are exclusively made up of Author's Crafts. Visitors to the Medieval Market will find crafts, gastronomy, street theatre, dance, music, demonstrations of crafts and lots of entertainment during three intense days.
Two Concerts
For this "July 9" two concerts have been scheduled in the Auditori de La Nucía, with free entry. The first will be on Saturday, July 6 at 8 p.m. with the performance of the Choir of the Musical Union of La Nucía together with the Pols i Pua Orchestra of the Altean Philharmonic Society . Performance included within the XXI Musical Exchange Concerts Campaign.
The second concert will be on Sunday July 7 at 12 noon the Festival of Young Bands with the participation of the Young Band of the Musical Union of La Nucia and the Young Band of the Musical Society of Alzira. Before the performance, there will be a small " walkthrough " through the streets of La Nucía.
Both concerts will have free admission with an invitation, to be collected during this week at the box office of the Auditori de La Nucía
July 9: Exhibition and presentation
On Tuesday 9th July, “9 de juliol. Dia de La Nucía”, the day on which La Nucía commemorates its foundation as an independent town from the Barony of Polop, there will be a special programme in the Sala Ponent of the Auditori de La Nucía. To celebrate the 319th anniversary (1705-2024) of the founding of La Nucía, a series of events have been scheduled, with free admission.
At 19 hours a small institutional event will be held to remember the anniversary. At 19:15 the presentation of the "Toponymy of the Valencian Towns" catalog will take place. La Nucia" , edited and published by the Valencian Language Academy , with the field work carried out by professors Maria Antònia Cano and Maria Isabel Guardiola . At the end of the event, the exhibition on the roots and origins of La Nucia, entitled "Our Roots - From An - Nuzayka to La Nucia" will be inaugurated in the East Hall of the Auditorium.
El Xato” Restaurant receives its sixth Michelin star
The “El Xato” Restaurant has received the 2024 Michelin star physically this week to put it on the façade of the establishment . This is the sixth consecutive year that the nuciero restaurant has received this distinction from the prestigious international guide, recognising the great work of its chef Cristina Figueira. Starting this week, the 2024 Michelin star is on the façade of the “El Xato” Restaurant in La Nucía.
Cristóbal Llorens , Councilor for Commerce, and María Jesús Jumilla , Councilor for Tourism , attended the reception of the plaque that commemorates the El to the events and catering director Pepe Cano . Centenary Restaurant
The El Xato Restaurant is centenary and in 2024 it will celebrate 109 years of life since it opened its doors . During this century of life, its cuisine has adapted to the evolution of gastronomy, without ever forgetting its roots and flavors. They are now in their fourth generation at the helm of this reference restaurant, which received its first Michelin star in 2019. Since then it has repeated the distinction every year consecutively: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 .

In the 17th edition of the 2023 National Hospitality Awards, El Xato Restaurant was awarded as the outstanding hospitality company in the promotion of Spanish culture and gastronomy.
36 countries in the VIII edition “International Day of La Nucía”
Today, Saturday, March 23, the “VIII International Day of La Nucía” will be celebrated in the parking lot of the Muixara pavilion. At 11 a.m. the opening ceremony will take place with a spectacular “ Parade of Nations ” that will precede the opening ceremony, the opening of which will be carried out by the Brazilian delegation. A cultural exchange meeting to publicise the culture, folklore and traditions of 36 countries. Admission to the public will be free.
A day of coexistence, fun and entertainment, especially for people interested in the culture and folklore of other countries. 36 countries confirmed
The international press published in the Marina Baixa region, NGOs, cultural associations, etc. have been involved in this “ International Day of La Nucía ” project. Brazil opens “Nations Parade”
For the opening, a spectacular “Parade of Nations” has been prepared at 11 am and this year the person in charge of opening the parade will be Brazil. The queen of the festivities Marta Ferrer and her bridesmaids together with els Majorals 2024- Penya Els Penjats will be the representatives of Spain in the parade of nations of this eighth edition. The best national skaters test the new La Nucía skatepark
The Spanish National Skate Team held a 6-day concentration in La Nucía to prepare for the World Skateboarding Tour 2024 in Dubai, which will take place from February 25 to March 10 in the capital of the Arab Emirates. In this way, the new La Nucía skate park was “premiered” for the first time as a Skate Technology Centre of the Royal Spanish Skating Federation , after the agreement signed between the federation and the City Council at the COE .
Among those concentrated, Naia Laso stands out , fifth classified in the last world championship, and Danny León , 9th in the Tokyo Olympic Games and current number 16 in the world park ranking.
The best national skaters have trained in the new skate park because it is very similar to the one they will find in Dubai at the end of the month. These six skaters : Gadea Moja , Egoitz Bijuesca , Peio González , Naia Laso, Ceci Rendueles and Danny León, have tested the new skate park , which will be completely finished and open next March. All of them have been called up by coach Alain Goikoetxea for the “Pro Tour de Park” in Dubai.
This morning Bernabé Cano , mayor of La Nucía and Sergio Villalba , Councilor for Sports, visited the riders on their last day of training, to wish them luck for their upcoming international competitions, in which qualification for Paris 2024 will be played .
This concentration of the National Skate Team has been organised by the Royal Spanish Skating Federation (RFEP), as “La Nucía, City of Sports” , National Skate Technique Centre since last January.
“Present and future of skateboarding”
“Two weeks ago we signed an agreement with the Skating Federation for this new skate park to be a National Technique Centre and now we have skaters from the National Team training in it and testing it to iron out some things. They are the present and future of national skateboarding. This skate park is almost finished and will open its doors in March, but the best national skaters have wanted to try it, since it is a facility very similar to the one in Dubai, where they will compete at the end of the month. Many of them have the possibility of going to the Paris Olympics, but to do so they need to obtain good results. Their training here has created an expectation and there are already riders from all over the world asking when it opens its doors to come and train in La Nucía, which With this new skate park it will become a benchmark in this sport internationally,”commented Bernabé Cano , mayor of La Nucía.
Best national skaters
The national skaters are preparing the international competition in Dubai on February 25, where they will compete to qualify for the pre-Olympic tournaments, to obtain qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Among those concentrated, Naia Laso stands out, fifth classified in the last championship of the world and Danny León , Olympian in Tokyo and current number 16 in the world ranking.
The skaters who have participated in this 6-day mini stage in La Nucía occupy the following positions in the world ranking for the Olympic Games: Gadea Moja (33rd), Egoitz Bijuesca (39th), Peio González (34th), Naia Laso (10th ), Ceci Rendueles (45th) and Danny León (16th). Hence the importance of scoring points in Dubai since it is the last test that is part of the first phase of Olympic qualification . When Dubai ends, the best skaters in the ranking, with a maximum of 6 per country, will have access to compete in the final Olympic qualification phase, which will be held in two locations; Shanghai (May 16-19) and Budapest (June 20-23).
At the Paris Olympic Games, there will be 44 skaters participating in each event, 22 in men's Park and 22 in women's Park , with a maximum of three athletes per country. Two of these twenty-two places will be for the host country and for Plaza de Universalidad.

- First test of the year of this UCI circuit with points for the Paris 2024 Olympics
This weekend (February 10 and 11) La Nucía hosts the first test of the year of the Shimano Super Cup Massi for mountain bikes. This year, due to the high level of its participants, it will be a “mini World Cup” of XCO Mtb with the presence of the current world champions and Ineos cyclists Tom Pidcock and Pauline Ferran-Prevot . Admission for the public will be free of charge, the women's test will be on Saturday, February 10 at 4:00 p.m. and the men's test on Sunday, February 11 at 12:30 p.m.
The test has UCI C1 category and will distribute points for the Paris Olympic Games. In its third edition, the Shimano Super Cup Massi La Nucía will have the best line-up in its history in both the men's and women's categories, bringing together the best XCO cyclists. Therefore, the show is guaranteed on the new 5.18 km “Olympic Cross Country” (XCO) circuit designed by the Olympic medalist Carlos Coloma and the local club La Nucía Coloma Bike Club, with departure and arrival from the Muixara School , next to the Olympic Stadium. Both the men's and women's races can be seen live on YouTube and Twitch.
This Shimano Super Cup Massi of La Nucía, UCI C1, is organized by the local club “La Nucía Coloma Bike Club” and the support of Costa Blanca- Alicante Provincial Council and the La Nucía City Council . Participating this afternoon in the presentation of this international XCO mountain bike test were Sofía Waite, North American biker from the BH Coloma Team, Albert Balcells , technical delegate of the test and Bernabé Cano , mayor of La Nucía.

European Cycling starts this Saturday in La Nucía with the 'Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana'

It is a 200 km one-day race. with the finish line in Valencia, which opens the UCI road cycling calendar in Europe. The Generalitat Valenciana will carry out improvements on the Benidorm-La Nucía road (CV-70) as announced this morning by Salomé Pradas, Minister of the Environment, Water, Infrastructure and Territory during her visit to the La Nucía City Council, “to improve road safety between Benidorm and La Nucía, given that it is the fourth busiest road in the Valencian Community .”
