"Villajoyosa is joy, it is flavour, it is sea, it is colour, it is history and it is, in short, the best destination to enjoy at any time of the year and we want to conquer professionals in the sector and tourists with all our tourist products in order to deseasonalise the demand of the municipality", explains Mayor Marcos Zaragoza.
"In this first tourist event of the year, we aim to promote Vila Joiosa as a quality gastronomic tourism destination, which is why we have decided to present the agenda of events for the 24th edition of La Vila Gastronòmica to the public of Fitur and promote our zero kilometer product and our most popular seafood cuisine", explains the Councilor for Tourism, Rosa Llorca.
The Gastronomic Village is a contest of activities organised by the Vila Joiosa Town Council with the collaboration of the hotel and chocolate industry. "We intend to go through this new stage hand in hand with our local tourism sector. The collaboration with this must be as close as possible because it is the only possible way", emphasizes the Councilor for Tourism, Rosa Llorca. This year, La Vila Gastronòmica is redesigning its programming and projection by also joining the L'Exquisit Mediterrani brand that promotes Valencian Community Tourism. Visitors to the Costa Blanca stand will be able to learn about the gastronomic calendar, which will start in March with the Mostra de Cuina Marinera and end in November with the Chocolatíssima. "We have committed to publicise the programming of La Vila Gastronòmica in Fitur as a gastronomic tourism offer throughout the year and also to reach a wider audience", adds the Councilor for Tourism, Rosa Llorca.
In this edition, the Tourism Council has a tourist information desk at the Costa Blanca Tourism stand desk, to offer detailed information on the municipality's tourist appeals, among which gastronomy, historical heritage, international sporting events stand out , the 13 beaches and coves, the Colada de Costa blue trail and the Moors and Christians festivities, until Sunday 28 January.
"We intend to transmit to the professional sector the commitment to work to re-position Vila Joiosa in a place that, from the point of view of humility and work, our municipality deserves. We have prepared an intense agenda with institutions, international bodies, agents of the sector, companies with DTI products and projects, attendance at forums and exchange of ideas and experiences, with the sole aim of taking advantage of any ideas that serve us to analyze and extract ideas that we can put into motion", points out Llorca.
