The British social club based in l'Alfàs, CHUMS Friends of Charity, has made a new donation of 800 euros to the Social Voluntary Association of l'Alfàs del Pi, an entity that is responsible for helping people who are in situations of vulnerability to overcome moments of crisis.
The images show the delivery, by representatives of CHUMS, of the donation to the president of the association, Antonio Viso, in a simple event that was also attended by members of the Government, in gratitude for the altruistic and committed gesture of this association.
CHUMS, created in September 2015, currently has a hundred members, who are British residents settled in the Marina Baixa region. They periodically hold social gatherings aimed at raising funds.
Created in January 2013, the L'Alfàs Social Volunteering Association was created with the aim of assisting people at risk of social exclusion in the municipality. Currently there are about 40 people who dedicate a large part of their free time to collecting, sorting and distributing clothes and food, as well as caring for the elderly and sick. In addition, they develop awareness campaigns among the population aimed at promoting a culture of solidarity in the municipality.
